Z Fold Fridge Magnet Card

Today's card is based on one I saw on one of the blogs I troll each day and can't remember who's it was (Sorry). I love this sentiment from the "Layering Love" stamp set and thought it would make a lovely fridge magnet but never got round to using it until now (sorry it's retired) but here goes on how i made it.

Card base is a Z fold with a centre fold and then a 1¼” fold back for the front.

The sentiment is stamped using “layering love” and an oval stitched shape followed by a scalloped layering oval.

The flowers and leaves are stamped from the “beautiful bouquet” and die cut using the “bouquet bunch” framelits.

The close mechanism is formed using magnets, which in turn means the sentiment can be a fridge magnet afterward.

Basic pearls were added to the centre of each of the flowers.

Hope you enjoyed today's card!

Birthday Blossoms meets Butterfly Basics

Well today I tried using the watercolour pencils to do the colouring for the flowers from birthday blossoms and was pleased with the results.

I started with a base of Flirty Flamingo then a layer of Whisper White stamped with the "happy birthday" sentiment from Butterfly Basics and embossed with the Softly Falling folder.

Next I stamped 5 pansies, 2 in Flirty Flamingo and 3 in Peekaboo Peach using the VersaMark and colour combination embossing technique (place the stamp on the versaMark then again onto the colour pad before stamping, then add the embossing powder and heat) then coloured the flowers with the watercolour pencils and added the faceted gems.

The "Sister" was die cut and the rhinestones were coloured using the stampin' blends.

Falling In Love

It was our friend's 30th Wedding anniversary last month and I didn't have a clue  what to do so went for soft subtle colours and this is what I came up with.

A lot of the materials used are now retired but I'm sure there's alternatives in the the current catalogue. The only thing missing at the moment are number dies (hopefully SU will remedy that soon) we all use numbers don't we!

Big Birthday, Boy

Today's card is a mixture of old and new again. The sentiments are old and the rest of it is the current catalogue!

I really wish the large numbers framelits hadn't retired. I think they're great for big birthday's don't you. It makes it so easy to create larger cards that make a statement.

The card was quite easy to put together and it's size is 5"x7".

The Simple stripes embossing folder doesn't really show up on the picture but is quite effective.

The blueberry bushel card stock was stamped with the handwritten stamp using the Stamparatus and 3 layers (I think) in craft whisper white ink.

With the happy birthday I just snipped off the birthday and put it away to use on another project.

Have a great day and Happy Crafting!

Colorful Seasons meets Wild About Flowers

Well for us it was a sad day on 31st July as we had to say goodbye to our Doctor after being with him for 30 years.

He was reluctant to leave but felt it was time. He has just become a Grand Father of premature twins and wants to spend time with them. And we certainly wish him well.

He's an outdoorsy sort of person and even at 70 enjoys things like walking and mountain climbing. So hope he likes his card.

It has been a wrench for his patients as he was what you would call old school. He never joined a group practice so unless he was on holiday we always saw him and we never had to wait long for appointments either. I think 2 days was the longest I ever had to wait.

There is now a new doctor there and we hope he will continue to practice in the same manner.
