Sunshine Sayings meets Beautiful Bouquet

This is out of the norm for me, as usually I do hubby red, black and white cards as red's his favourite colour. So he'll be surprised this year as there's no red in sight. Just hope he likes it!!!

It's a couple of days late coming onto the blog as we've been away for a few days this week and rather busy.

This is a card I Case'd from Lea Dentons' blog The crafty Spark.

Start with a base card of Shimmery White (cs) measuring 10" x 7" scored at 5".
Using Soft Sea Foam and the spolge stamp from the Sunshine Sayings (ss) create a (dsp) type background on the base card.
The Banner is 6" x 1¼” and the tail is created using the Tailored Tag punch. Once adhered to the base card cut off any excess dsp.
The sentiment is stamped using the Beautiful Bouquet (ss) in Fresh Fig making sure you leave enough room to die cut it.
The rest of the card is done using the Bigshot, filing the plate twice.
1. with the Sweet & Sassy ® framelits, die cut the 3 larger hearts using the Tranquil Textures (dsp) the love from the Sunshine Wishes thinlits in Fresh Fig, and the sentiment using the label from the Night Owl ® thinlits.
2. the 4 smaller hearts and the second love using Shimmery White.
Adhere the 2 loves together creating a shadow using liquid glue then attach to the lefthand side of the banner.
Now arrange the hearts down the card using liquid glue except for the smallest one which I used a dimensional for.
Lastly place the sentiment where you want it.

Chicken Wire meets Lovely Words

Here are 2 cards I made a few weeks ago. They're for friends of mine who both have birthdays this month so I wanted to do them something bright and cheerful, but nice and feminine. 

Mind you the day I made them back in February was a lovely day and the sun was shining  for most of it.

With the one on the right I had dropped a bit of a clanger, as it turns out for Jean this was a  bit of a biggy and I needed very quickly to add a couple of numbers to it but didn't have the time to photograph it.

Start with a base card of Thick Whisper White (cs) measuring 15 x 21cm scored at 10.5cm.
For the first layer use a backing of Watercolor Wonder ® DSP measuring 15 x 10.5  and then adhere the Chicken Wire ® on top. (this creates the first mat).
Using Whisper White (cs) stamp the Happy Birthday from the Happy Birthday Gorgeous (ss) in Lemon Lime Twist making sure you have enough room to die cut it.
Using Silver Foil backed with some adhesive sheeting die cut the Friend from the Lovely Words ® thinlits and at the same time die cut the following pieces, the stamped Happy Birthday using the 2nd smallest circle die from the Stitched Shapes framelits and the spray of flowers from the Stitched Seasons ® framelits in Lemon Lime Twist.
Now die cut the spray of flowers again from the Stitched Seasons ® framelits in Calypso Coral and cutting off the flower and buds adhere them to the Lemon Lime Twist spray of flowers and add a Basic Rhinestone to the middle of the full flower.
Adhere the Happy Birthday circle using liquid glue to a Pearlised Doily ®  and using Dimensional pads place onto the card where you wish it to be and adhere the spray of flowers.
Using the (sab) Organdy ribbon make a bow, add a glue dot to the back of it and place it where you want it.
Now adhere the sentiment Friend.

Happy Birthday Gorgeous meets Butterfly Gala

Hello fellow crafters,

I went for a bright and happy card for my sister today and just hope she likes it. She's got a big one coming up next year, but I won't give away which one until next year.!!!

It's one of my usual type of cards, easy and simple.

I've discovered that March is now quite a busy month for celebrations and things, and of course I try to get at least 6 Christmas cards done each month as well, so there's no mad rush later in the year.

To recreate this card follow the guide below:

Start with a base card of Whisper White(cs) measuring 21 x 21.5 cm scored at 10.5cm.
Across the front of the card base and using the Large Letters framelits, set out the letters for the word you want (sister) and die cut them (for the spacing I wanted, I needed to run the card through twice doing the 1st, 2nd, 4th and 6th letters on the first run through and the 3rd and 5th on the second run through.
Stamp the Happy Birthday from the Happy Birthday Gorgeous (ss) wherever you want it along the bottom. 
Now run the front of the card through the Big Shot using the Subtle folder. Again this needs to go through twice.
Cut a backing mat measuring 21.4 x 10.4 cm using Calypso Coral and placing it behind the front of the card adhere using liquid glue.  
Using Watercolour Wonder ® dsp die cut the letters again using the Large Letters framelits. to make the letters stronger I adhered them to the plain letters already cut out form the card and then placed them back on the card using dimensional pads.
Using an off cut of Whisper White stamp a pair of butterflies, twice from the Butterfly Gala (ss) using the thumping technique (ink up the stamp with the main colour and then using a Stampin' Marker lightly tap the second colour randomly across the top, and stamp). Now using the Butterfly Duet punch,  punch out the butterflies. Place the butterflies where you want them and stamp the antennae.  Add some Wink of Stella and Basic Pearls then adhere to the card using dimensional pads.

Springtime Impressions meets Perennial Birthday!

I made this for my Niece who normally I don't send cards to but, this year I just thought why not. I love making them and I hope she enjoyed receiving it yesterday. Happy Birthday for yesterday Gemma!!! Won't give your age away just yet.

Without realising it, I created this card following the lines of one I did a few weeks ago for my friends birthday last week,  and it's amazing how different this one looks compared it, it's three posts back and was posted on the 4th March.

What do you think of the difference?

To recreate this card follow the guide below:

(r) = retired, (cs) = card stock, (ss) = Stamp Set

Base card measures 14.5 x 21cm scored at 10.5cm

First layer CS measures 10 x 14cm and embossed using the Big Shot Embossing Mats and the Springtime Impressions thinlits. Adhere to the base card using liquid glue.

Stamp the birthday from the Perennial Birthday (ss) you need to put sellotape across the happy part of this stamp while inking up the stamp  and remove the sellotape before actually stamping.  Punch it out using the Classic Label punch.

Greeting x 2 measures 8.5 x 4cm each and needs to be backed with some Multipurpose Adhesive sheet.

Die cut the happy from the Merry Christmas thinlits once and at the same time die cut the small sprig of berries from the Frosted Bouquet framelits

Now die cut the second happy and at the same time die cut the fancier of the 2 circles from the Stitched Labels framelits, using Whisper White (cs).

Adhere this circle to the back of a Lacy Doily (r) using a dimensional pad.

For the happy birthday, remove the adhesive sheet backing from the colour want to have on the top and carefully lay it down forming a shadow on top of the one you want underneath and press down. Now remove the adhesive sheet from the underneath one and again adhere down on top of the Lacy Doily.

Place the Lacy Doily where you want it to go (but do not adhere it down) now place the sprig of berries where you want them to go and adhere them down using a very small amount of liquid glue.

Adhere the Lacy Doily using dimensional pads.

Use dimensional pads to adhere down the birthday greeting.

Create a bow using the black Satin Ribbon and adhere using a glue dot. To finish it off add some black Rhinestones (r).

Simple Happy Birthday

Hello fellow crafters,

It's my brother in-law's birthday today and this is what I came up with.

Sometimes I like to go for clean and simple cards, and this is a great one. But if I did it again I'd go for a lighter background dsp as the Happy Birthday sentiment doesn't stand out very well. 

To recreate this card follow the guide below:

Start with a base card of Whisper White (cs) measuring 13.5 X 27 cm scored at 13.5 cm.
Using the Subtle folder, emboss the front of the card base.
Using an off cut of Whisper White stamp the sentiment (nsu) in Soft Suede and emboss using the Subtle folder.
Cut 2 pieces of Neutrals dsp measuring 9 x 9 cm and adhere them to the base card using liquid glue and them set at a slight angle.
Die cut the Happy Birthday using Gold Foil and the Happy Birthday thinlits, and use dimensional pads to adhere to the dsp.
Punch out the sentiment using the Washi Label ® punch and use dimensional pads to adhere to the bottom left corner.

Beautiful Bouquet meets Petal Palette

Wasn't sure what to do when it came to do this card, and this is what I came up with. I thought being the beginning of Spring a nice bright colour would be good. I'd picked out the stamp sets and decided on a colour and off I went, adding little touches here and there.

Start with a base card of Whisper White (cs) measuring 14.8 x 21 cm scored at 10.5cm
Randomly stamp the small flowers from the Petal Palette (ss) in So Saffron ink around the edge of the base card to give some added interest.
Now using a piece of  Whisper White (cs) stamp the bird from the Petal Palette (ss) in Smoky Slate, using the light Mango Medley blends add some colour to the birds breast.
The Sentiment is from the Beautiful Bouquet (ss) and stamped onto So Saffron (cs) in Smoky Slate. Make sure you leave enough space around the stamping to be able to die cut both of these later.
For the first layer use So Saffron (cs) measuring 14.8 x 5.8 cm and emboss using the Petal Pair folder, I used the Tailored Tag punch to create the tail. Use liquid glue to adhere to the base card.
Now the easy part, all the die cutting can be carried out in one pass through the Big Shot 
Cut some Silver Foil to fit the heart from the Sunshine Wishes thinlits and the lattice work from the Petals & More thinlits and place them on your big shot plate, along with the leaves in Soft Sea Foam, the bird that was stamped earlier and the single banner from the Bunch of Banners framelits to cut the sentiment. Use a small piece of So Saffron for the small heart from the Support Ribbon framelits,  Once all positioned on the plate run through your big shot.
Emboss the small heart using the Subtle folder.
Now place the pieces where you want them on the card and adhere down using a mixture of liquid glue and dimensional tabs.
Add a small bow to the lattice work along the bottom. I used some of the Taffeta ⅜" ® I had in my stash.

Butterfly Gala meets Springtime Impressions

Hi all, I had a go using a thinlits die to emboss this card and I felt it went quite well. The reciepient of the card loved it today anyway, and that's all that matters isn't it. As a treat from her hubby she's off to Norway tomorrow to see the Northern Lights lucky girl, mind you hubby's going too!

I'm trying more to create from scratch now, as I feel using other people's cards from Pinterest is great but kinda cheating. Still finding hard though.

Start with a base card of Thick Whisper White (cs) measuring 14.5 x 21cm scored at 10.5cm

For the first layer use Whisper white (cs) measuring 14.5 x 10.5cm and emboss using the Subtles folder. Now using the same piece of card and the big shot embossing mats emboss again using the Springtime Impressions thinlits, then adhere to the base card using liquid glue.

Stamp the sentiment on Whisper white (cs) using the Memorable Moments ® (ss) leaving enough room to die cut later.

Using an off cut of Powder Pink (cs) measuring 10.5 x 8 cm randomly stamp the swirly scroll from the Star of Light (ss) in Rich Razzleberry ink.

Die cut the butterfly and flower using the Springtime Impressions thinlits along with the Sentiment using the Stitched Labels framelits.

Position the butterfly in the bottom left corner and stamp the smaller antennae from the Butterfly Gala (ss) using Rich Razzleberry ink.

Adhere the butterfly using a combination of liquid glue (for the body) and very small pieces of dimensional pads for the edge of the wings.

Use a glue dot to adhere the flower and dimensional pads to place the sentiment.

Finally colour 2 small Basic Rhinestones and 1 Iced Rhinestones ® using Rich Razzleberry blends and add to the butterfly and flower.
