Bokeh Dots meets Painted Glass and more

It's a lovely day here in the West Midlands and I could even feel the sun on my legs when  doing my daily walk at 7.30 this morning.

Thought this card was lovely when I'd finished it, and made my first double bow. Really liked how the bokeh dots turned out.

To recreate this card follow the guide below:
® = retired, (sab) = Sale-A-Bration, (H) = Hostess, (nsu) = not stampin’ up, (ss) = Stamp set, DSP = designer series paper, CS = Card Stock

Start with a base card of Whisper White (cs) measuring 14.8 x 21cm scored at 10.5cm

The first layer is Highland Heather (cs) and measures 14.3 x 10cm and is adhered straight to the base card using liquid glue (Tombow).

The second layer is Whisper White (cs) and measures 13.8 x 9.5cm. Place this layer in the Stamparatus and stamp the Dots from the Bokeh Dots (ss) twice, first in Balmy Blue and then sponged with Highland Heather.

Remove the Bokeh Dots stamp and place the small tree from the Golden Afternoon (ss) towards the bottom left corner of the Bokeh Dots and stamp in Memento Black Tuxedo ink.

Next stamp the birthday sentiment from Painted Glass at the bottom right side of the card in Highland Heather and then remove the layer from the Stamparatus.

Emboss this layer using the Subtle embossing folder and adhere straight down onto the Highland Heather layer.

Using an off cut of Whisper White (cs) and the Stamparatus double stamp a butterfly from the Butterfly Gala (ss) again once in Balmy Blue and then sponged with Highland Heather.

Use the Butterfly Duet punch to punch the butterfly and adhere it towards the top of the card, adding the antenae in the Memento ink and add some Basic Pearls.

Using Highland Heather Organdy ribbon (free with a £45 order at the moment) create a small bow and place it next to the sentiment.

Hope You're pleased with the result.

Will be back again soon with more cards

Swirly Bird meets oldie Wacky Wishes

Well I decided today to make two cards at the same time, as they are people who don't know each other.

It's a really easy card to make and there's only stamping and dry embossing involved. I liked the wacky wishes happy birthday but there are plenty of alternatives in the current catalogue. I need to use old stamp sets sometimes to justify keeping them or hubby moans!!! Plus I like them.

To recreate this card follow the guide below:
® = retired, (sab) = Sale-A-Bration, (H) = Hostess, (nsu) = not stampin’ up, (ss) = Stamp set, DSP = designer series paper, CS = Card Stock

Start with a base card of Crumb Cake measuring 29 x 10.5cm scored at 14.5cm
The first layer also Crumb Cake measures 14 x 10cm and is embossed using the Pinewood Planks folder. Once embossed adhere straight to the base card using liquid glue (Tombow).
The second layer Very Vanilla  measures 12.5 x 8.5cm, stamp across the bottom using the Swirly Bird (ss) with Crumb Cake and Night of Navy ink, then towards the top, stamp the sentiment from the Wacky Wishes ® (ss) in Night of Navy
Once stamped emboss this layer using the Subtle folder, add ribbon at the top and tie with a faux knot or if you're going to be posting the card use a staple to attach it, then adhere to the card using dimensional pads.

Will be back again soon with more cards

Balloon Celebration meets Picnic with You

The sun is now shining and it feels quite warmer than it's been over the last few days which is great.

It's my lovely neighbours birthday today and this is what I came up with. There looks to be a lot going on but once I'd completed it I thought it looked rather nice, along with being relatively easy to do.

To recreate this card follow the guide below:
® = retired, (sab) = Sale-A-Bration, (H) = Hostess, (nsu) = not stampin’ up, (ss) = Stamp set, DSP = designer series paper, CS = Card Stock

Start with a base card measuring 10½" x 5¼" scored at 5¼."
first layer is grapefruit grove and measures 5 x 5 and is embossed using the subtle folder.
Second layer is a piece of Whisper White (cs) measuring 4¾ x 4¾" covered with a piece of graceful glass vellum measuring 4¾" x 3½" and a piece of wood textures dsp measuring 4¾" x 1⅜"  (if you use tombo liquid glue to adhere the vellum, when dry it's invisible).
Add ribbon of your choice across the join. I used retired lace and the Current In Color ⅛ Grosgrain.
Using off cuts of Whisper White (cs) stamp the flower heads, stems and basket from the Picnic with You (ss)  ®.
Die cut the pieces using the Picnic Basket Builder framelits ® and then emboss the basket using the embossing frame from the same set.
Now assemble them where you want them and adhere to the card.
(I adhered the stems to the back of the basket with wet glue and then attached the basket and flower heads with dimensional pads to the card).
Using the Balloon Celebration (ss) I stamped the happy birthday on another piece of off cut (cs) and using the Banner Triple punch created a tail.

Will be back again soon with more card
