Bella & Friends

This is a stamp set I waited and waited to buy and then took ages to use. I just loved it, but put it on the shelf and forgot it was there. I'm not a doggy person but they all looked so cute.

My cousin loves her dogs so thought it might be acceptable for her, even though her dogs are both Pugs (I think?).

I went for a simple effect and only coloured the collar round Bella's neck and I must admit it looks a lot better in real life!! Just hope she liked it.

Still not got any free time to work on the blog page, but that's a good thing for me. Plenty to do just now.

Just started my Christmas cards for this year, like to get them done in plenty of time.

Piecing Technique using Beautiful You

Still not used to this new blog and need to find the time to add things like the Catalogue and extra's.

Sorry the phone's ringing so be back in a couple of minutes.  Well that was a disaster there are ten of us going for a family meal tonight and the restaurant has had a gas leek and had had to close. So once i've done this I'll have to find somewhere else to eat tonight.  Catalogues will be up soon.

I'm trying to use DSP (designer series paper) in cards just now as I keep buying it and not using it. So looked on Pinterest for inspiration and came across a card I liked so  CASEd it (CASE = copy and steel everything) using different DSP, my strings weren't quite so good so I added the ribbon.

Piecing is a simple technique, you stamp first on plain card stock and then again on patterned paper, cut out the shape you want from the patterned paper and place it on the plain card stock. So for this card it's the dress that's been pieced.

Now I need to go and wake my husband and try to find a place to eat tonight.

The materials used are:
® = retired, (nsu) = not stampin’ up

Card stock: Sweet Sugarplum, Whisper White
Ink: Sweet Sugarplum
DSP: In Color 16-18
Stamp sets: Beautiful You
Punches: Balloon Bouquet
Accessories: In Color ribbon (r), Sequins

Custom Tee meets Birthday Banners

Never know what to do for young men (there's a big one for him next year so it will be easier to do) so I just went with his team colours of black and orange. He's an avid Wolves supporter (along with his dad). The next step was to find a suitable stamp set and that was the Custom Tee, which I teamed up with Perpetual Birthday Calendar and Birthday Banners.

I stamped the background and when that was complete I thought it looked a bit flat so sent it through the Bigshot with the Brick Wall embossing folder and felt better. Next I thought about the sentiment and felt just the white banner looked a little tame so added an offset black one behind it which I felt looked better. I used the outer white frame as an added dimension.

The materials used are:
(r) = retired, (nsu) = not stampin’ up

Card stock: Basic Black, Tangerine Tango, Whisper White
Ink: Memento Black Tuxedo, Tangerine Tango, Versa Mark
Stamp sets: Birthday Banners, Custom Tee (r), Perpetual Birthday Calendar (r)
Embossing folders: Brick Wall
Embossing powders: Clear
Framelits: Bunch of Banners, T-Shirt Builder (r)
Punches: Confetti Stars (r)
Accessories: Black Taffeta Ribbon (r)

Will be back again soon with more cards

Birthday Blossoms meets Oh So Eclectic

Well I had a real mishap today. Went to do my blog and couldn't get into it anymore (tried everything I could think of) so here I am starting a new one. As it has been a long time since I set the old one up I haven't got all the gizmo's working yet so this is a blog in the making for now.

I just love this card, my inspiration came from one a saw a while ago on Pinterest.  There are a couple of elements that are retired now but could easily be swapped out for something current.

I used the daubing technique behind the main die cut image using fresh fig and powder pink to get the effect I wanted. Next was the stamping and die cutting, I'm not good with 2 step stamping so was very happy with the flowers.

The materials used are:
(r) = retired, (nsu) = not stampin’ up
Card stock: Gold Foil, Whisper White
Ink: Fresh Fig, Garden Green, Powder Pink, VersaMark
DSP: Fancy Frost (r)
Stamp sets: Birthday Blossoms, Oh So Eclectic
Embossing powders:Gold
Thinlits: Eclectic Layers
Accessories: Gold cord (r), Wink of Stella

Will be back again soon with more cards
